Hydro testing & Pigging

Pigging is an important service in the industry. It is completed to boost performance and also avoid potential problems on already existing pipelines, as well as to remove new construction debris to assists during hydrostatic testing.

Upon completion of piping construction, the line is needed to be checked the needed efficiency tension. This testing could be completed pneumatically with air or nitrogen, or with fluids such as water, glycol, or a methanol mixture.

Our engineers will certainly identify whether or not a line pack is required on the pipeline. They do so by examining the hydrostatic profile of the pipe to calculate the amount of air needed maintain pressure on the fill. This ensures the measured amount of testing tool does not loaded with air, which could trigger issues throughout the line capture portion of the examination.

Once the line has been tested, the water is removed and the drying out procedure starts. Drying could be completed with a methanol wash or compressed air. The methanol wash would certainly be pushed in a slug between pigs. Conversely, the compressed air method would need a compressor as well as dryer set up to constantly push pigs through the pipe till the defined dryness has been attained.

Not only is FourQuest efficient in finishing all types of testing, but we also have the global experiences to complete them successfully. For every test, we offer an engineered treatment to be executed, along with engineering support throughout the project.
